A half-round body is stronger, lighter and more dent resistant than the same thickness, length and cubic capacity of an elliptical or flat bottomed, round side body trailer.

A half-round body will center the load more precisely than the elliptical or flat bottomed, round side body. The half round body results in reduced off-center loading and greater stability while dumping.
